Environmental Education and Communication
Approach
The NGK Group, based on NGK Group Environmental Policy, places a strong focus on education and communication initiatives to raise environmental awareness among employees.
We aim for each employee to understand environmental issues and to actively engage in environmental conservation.
Employee Environmental Training and Skills Development
Environmental Expert Training
The NGK Group provides specialized training to strengthen compliance in environmental management.
In FY2025, NGK conducted training on fluorocarbons using on-demand learning materials, with approximately 2,000 employees participating.
We verify participants’ understanding through achievement tests and support the acquisition of appropriate knowledge.
Special Environmental Training
The NGK Group organizes seminars and workshops led by external experts on key themes such as carbon neutrality, a recycling-oriented society, and harmony with nature, providing opportunities for employees to explore environmental issues together.
Seminars and Workshops on the Circular Economy
NGK conducted seminars and workshops on the circular economy in FY2025 as part of its resource circulation initiatives, continuing from the previous year.
Through post-seminar workshops for employees in each business division, we deepened understanding of circular economy concepts and discussed specific initiatives within each division.
Briefing Session on Information Disclosure Based on the TNFD Recommendations
In July 2025, NGK held an internal briefing session on information disclosure based on the TNFD Recommendations as part of its initiatives toward harmony with nature.
Participants, mainly from business divisions and procurement divisions, deepened their understanding of the relationship between business activities and local communities and nature through the TNFD framework.
Promoting the Acquisition of Qualifications
The NGK Group promotes the acquisition of legally required qualifications for environmental management to continuously advance environmental conservation activities in compliance with regulations.
We provide necessary support for obtaining these qualifications and work systematically to develop and secure the required human resources.

Support for Acquisition of Eco Test Certification
NGK supports employees in taking the Eco Test Certification to help them develop broad environmental knowledge and a high level of awareness.
We provide study materials and subsidize examination fees for interested employees. To date, 950 employees have passed the test, representing approximately 20% of the workforce.

Social Contribution through the NGK Eco Point System
NGK operates the NGK Eco Point System, under which employees earn points for environmentally friendly actions taken at work and at home. A portion of these points is converted into monetary donations to local environmental funds managed by municipalities.
Donations are used to support local environmental conservation activities, such as purchasing equipment for aquatic ecosystem surveys and funding environmental education programs. The system both raises employees’ environmental awareness and contributes to local communities.
It is implemented at sites in Nagoya, Chita, and Komaki, as well as the Ishikawa Plant, the Tokyo Head Office, the Osaka Branch, and sales offices.

Initiatives to Improve Environmental Awareness
The NGK Group works to raise environmental awareness among all stakeholders through lectures at high schools and universities, environmental events, and information dissemination.
Guest Lectures at High Schools
NGK regularly provides Guest Lectures at high schools in Aichi Prefecture. In these lectures, we introduce our sustainability initiatives and provide students with opportunities to think about the connection between themselves and the environment.
University Lectures
NGK provides graduate-level Guest Lectures delivered by employees. In these lectures, we introduce the NGK Group Philosophy, business strategies, and initiatives toward Carbon Neutrality, helping students deepen their understanding of the role of companies in achieving a sustainable society.
Sharing Information with Other Companies
At the Environmental Partnership Club (EPOC)*, our President Kobayashi serves as Vice Chair, and we lead the Environmental Management Subcommittee, where we share information on corporate environmental management. We hold several seminars and study sessions each year to help member companies enhance their environmental awareness. In FY2025, we organized seminars on ESG investment and sustainability disclosure standards, as well as study sessions to share environmental management challenges faced by member companies and discuss how to address them.
