Prohibit the Use of Password-Encrypted Email Attachments in Our Company
November 9, 2023 (Added April 1, 2026)
As part of our measures to enhance security against malware such as Emotet, NGK Corporation (hereinafter referred to as NGK) has discontinued the use of password-encrypted file attachments in emails as of November 27, 2023.
Accordingly, the way of exchanging files by email is as follows:
The way of exchanging files
In the case where business partners send our company emails with attached files
Please note that the emails with password-encrypted attachments like Zip ones, a series of Office ones, or PDF ones will be quarantined by our security systems so that NGK will not be able to receive them any longer. Ask our employees about how you send the files other than emails if you would like to send the confidential files.
In the case where our company send business partners emails with attached files
NGK will also change to a different method when sending emails with attachments. Regarding its use, NGK will individually make a contact with each business partner.
