The NGK Group is working with partners to promote innovation toward achieving New Value 1000, which symbolizes the Group’s goal of over 100 billion yen in sales of newly introduced products by the year 2030.
At our Open Innovation facilities, together with various partners, including academic and research institutions and startups, we pursue the creation of new ideas and new businesses and seek to promote technological exchange and other joint activities that will generate opportunities for new and lasting partnerships. Through such co-creation efforts, we aim to create new and innovative products and to expedite their social implementation.
Open Innovation facilities for visitors to experience the latest technologies
The NGK Group’s Open Innovation facilities are places of co-creation for fostering new collaboration with external partners. Alongside partners from diverse backgrounds, such as academic institutions, research institutions, and startups, we have been discussing specific technology, giving shape to new ideas, and creating new businesses.
ID ROOM
The ID ROOM is designed to be a space to develop new business themes through co-creation while providing an experience on NGK’s diverse technologies and ideation area for broadening ideas through dialogue.
NGK and all of its partners can create a bright and fruitful future by leveraging all assets from the team.

ID-Room TOKYO Satellite
This display space allows visitors to experience the latest in NGK Group technologies in the greater Tokyo metropolitan area, home to many current and prospective client companies and research institutions. A meeting system, including a large monitor, lets visitors hear technological explanations by engineers and other staff at our NAGOYA Headquarters as well as take part in discussions, with the physical products close at hand.
This area features the products offered by the NGK Group since its founding to the present day, as well as new products in development for the future.
This true-to-life meeting system projects life-size images of those in the ID ROOM in Nagoya and remote participants.
This area features products and technologies that are mostly related to carbon neutrality and a digital society.
